Nemakian OCs: Esca and Escro

Somehow, despite the fact my focus was nearly completely destroyed by my dog blindly jumping onto the daybed where I was originally drawing before having to retreat to the dining table, I managed to get these two done.  Although I'm really wishing I could draw them myself, lord knows what could end up happening around here.  Anyway, these are my two new Namekian OCs, Esca and Escro (whose names both derive from the term "escargo" meaning "snail"...I think...either that or slug, but either way, it's a mollusk term).  I dunno quite how I thought of these two, when I'm still trying to think of a decent Saiyan OC that isn't a Mary/Gary-Sue, but they did.  Who knows?  If I ever get a gaming laptop so I can play Xenoverse, I'll make these two.  Anyway, onto the bios!

Esca Bio:

A happy-go-lucky resident of New Namek, Esca is one of the lucky Namekians that was revived after Frieza and his men ravaged the previous Planet Namek.  However, with his forced time on Earth, he became fascinated with the nature of the planet – the night skies, the clear blue skies, the overall nature of the planet – that once he and the others were wished to New Namek, he wanted to go back.

One day, he decides to build a space ship, slightly similar to what the “prodigy” had built a long time ago.  Esca bids farewell to his brothers and sets a course for Earth.  He arrives there after some time, happy to be back, wanting to explore more of the “alien planet”.  The Namekian returns to Bulma’s place, asking to stay with her once again within the Atrium; she and her parents agree, giving him a place to stay.

Over time, Esca had become so fascinated with the animals and astrology, he found himself wanting to go into those fields, however, without any kind of degree, he was unable to get any kind of job.  Strongly determined to gain a career, he does his best to try and find a school that would accept him so he can earn a degree.  Sadly, with nothing to really back him up, he wasn’t accepted into either school. Esca eventually found himself depressed, thinking of returning to New Namek.  That is until one night when a woman had found him sitting on a bench staring out at the sea.

The woman asks why he seems so upset, to which he responds he can’t get a career going because no one will accept him.  She sits next to him and offers him some flavored water.  Esca stares at the purple liquid curiously, dumbfounded that water can be flavored.  Always willing to try something new, he accepts the offer and takes a sip.  Instantly falling in love with the grape flavor, he declares to flavor all of his water this flavor.  He thanks her for the drink, asking what her name is.  When she responds that her name is Lillian, Esca starts to feel a connection with her.

This feeling he has for her confuses him over the next few days as the two get together for coffee (which he finds disgusting on top of making him hyper).  Lillian explains to him about the feelings he’s having, which he still finds foreign as his race is only male, so no connections like the one he’s feeling really exist.  Even Bulma finds herself unable to explain those feelings to Esca, but Goku – who she recommended – is able to get him to understand it.  As he eventually goes on dates with Lillian, he starts to learn what this type of love is, and can’t help but fall head over heels for her.  The two are happily in love; after a few months, the Namekian moves in with her, living in her condo.  However, he finds himself getting a sun lamp, unable to fully handle the artificial lights.  Another thing as well, because he drinks his water grape-flavored, the dye had turned him purple over time, as what happens with flowers that are given food coloring mixed in the water.  It didn’t bother him in the slightest, even if Lillian misses him being a nice deep green color.

One night, Lillian wanted to take their relationship to the next level.  The thing is, she confesses she is unable to have kids, and is afraid of Esca leaving her because of it.  This news hardly bothers him, but is sincere in his response that he doesn’t care about that, he only cares about her happiness.  This moment is broken when he happily announces his race reproduces asexually anyway, so the “bouncy bed game” is completely foreign to him.  A bit taken aback by this, Lillian finds herself curious about how Namakians reproduce, and if they have anything below the belt.  He is about to show her he can produce an egg, but she stops him before he has a chance.  Despite all this, Lillian is happy to know that Esca only cares about her happiness, and their moment continues with a kiss.

Eventually, Esca is able to find a school that accepts him, but he turns them down, having landed a job at a florist where he has found his passion in plants, able to grow the healthiest and most beautiful of plants and flowers.  It comes as a huge advantage to him, as he enjoys bringing home beautiful bouquets for his girl, replacing those that die out; he even brings them to her workplace, sometimes with a small teddy bear attached.  With the money they earn, they save up enough for a small house just at the edge of town.  The ever energetic Namekian ends up creating beautiful gardens around the place, even going so far as to plant a few trees too.

At one point, Lillian talks with Esca about having a child, thinking about a surrogate.  Esca is not sure what to do about that, but brings up the fact he can simply spit out an egg, adding in that he can choose how the child will look.  A bit unsure, she asks if it’s okay with him, to which he spits out an egg right there and then, holding it up with a grin on his face.  Lillian isn’t sure how to take that, but is happy to know she’ll soon be a mother, to which she’d actually be the first according to him; Namekians don’t have mothers as females don’t exist.  When she questions on how long the egg will take to hatch, Esca shrugs, not completely sure, but he knows the “baby stage” doesn’t last very long.  It takes a couple days for the egg to hatch, and Lillian becomes a very excited and happy mother to the newborn.  The couple decide to name the child after Esca, naming him Escro.

Escro Bio:

Born in only just a couple days, Escro is very similar to his father, having the same happy-go-lucky personality and a docile nature.  Unlike his father who is dyed purple, Escro is a slightly deeper green than most Nameks, and his antennae curl upwards.  He becomes fascinated with nature as well, till one day (about 3 years later) he discovers an injured bird in the backyard.  Its wing was broke and it looked to be in pain.  Unsure what to do, an instinct comes over him, and he begins to heal the injured bird.  Within seconds, it stands up, looks at him, then flies away.  Astounded and excited, Escro tells his parents about it, the both of them amazed and proud of their son’s abilities.

Escro is homeschooled, Lillian worried about how quickly Namekians can grow and not wanting him to get picked on by other kids.  He is still able to play with other kids his age, most of the time being able to play with Gohan, and eventually Baby Trunks, who constantly grabs his antennae causing him great pain.  He takes pride in his healing abilities and eventually crafts his own scepter which amplifies his abilities.  Escro dreams of one day becoming a doctor for humans as well as a vet, wanting to help all those in need.  For now though, his mother wants him to enjoy being a kid while he has his youth, not wanting him to grow up “too fast”.

Esca’s Abilities:

The purple Namek found himself with little fighting abilities at all despite being a Warrior-Class.  He was not the strongest fighter, though he tries to train with the only other Namek around, Piccolo, whenever he has the time.  Feeling as if his own attacks hardly do enough, he purchases a pair of brass knuckles that he prides himself in.  Although since the need to battle is low, he does try to visit a local gym as well, until he eventually makes enough money to obtain his own equipment.

Ki Sense – Esca has the natural ability to sense ki energy, and can sense it from a good distance as well.  Another thing he can detect well is the weather due to his high sensitivity.

Ki Blasts – Another ability he can use well, ki blasts are basic, though his appear to be slightly stronger than normal.  He uses extraordinarily weak ones to prepare the ground for new plants.

After-Image Technique – While not the strongest, Esca is rather fast, and is able to produce an after-image.

Flight – Esca has learned how to fly, though rarely does so unless he is in a rush.

Regeneration – As a Namekian, Esca has the natural ability to regrow lost body parts.

Mystic Attack – Esca has shown to be able to stretch his limbs, though this is more used to reach things in high places or put things on high shelves, etc.

Telepathy – Esca developed this on his own, and is able to communicate with others, though he primarily uses it to check on his family.

Escro’s Abilities:

Still young and not a Warrior Class, Escro’s greatest ability is the ability to heal.  Although when playing with Gohan or going with his father when he’s made a promise to train with Piccolo, Escro has shown determination in wanting to learn some offensive abilities.  Again, with him being young, his attacks are often weak, though with his scepter, the power is doubled.  He is also taking classes in Hapkido (cane fighting) and Karate.

Ki Sense – Just like his father, Escro can sense a great distance, and can also sense the weather.  However, being a novice, things like strong radio waves and the like can mess with this ability and confuse him.

Telepathy – Escro can communicate with others telepathically, though it’s usually used with his father and mother.

Ki Blast – While weak on their own, he can fire them using his scepter to which they are strong enough to deal decent damage.  However, both being a novice and non-warrior class weaken this ability.

Regeneration – Also a Namek, Escro has proved this natural ability once when his arm had been cut off by a thug.  It was so painful to him, he passed out soon after his arm grew back.  It also happened one other time when Baby Trunks accidentally ripped off one of his antennae.

Healing – Similar to Dende, Escro has the ability to heal any kind of injury so long as the being is still alive.  This is amplified by his scepter, being shown to heal the most gruesome of injuries or dull the pain from said types of injuries.  This has prompted him to want to become a human doctor and a vet.

Flight – While still learning to focus his ki energy, Escro can fly, but only for a short while.  He mostly uses this to help get things from high places or put objects on high shelves, etc.

Trivia:
I know Nameks can't really be purple, but in Xenoverse, they can apparently be any other color.  Also, i you've ever done the food dye trick with flowers (preferably white ones, it shows up better), they do indeed change color.  So Esca becoming purple due to the dye in the flavored water would actually turn him said color over time.  And because he keeps drinking grape flavored water, he stays purple.  All because Namekians are part plant.

Before anyone's like "where's the patches on Escro?" I can't fully recall if Child Nameks have them or not, and yes, I have watched DBZ (actually watching Kai online when I can), my memory simply fails at recalling certain details.

Why do they have blue eyes?  It just happened that way because of the bases.  That's why they look weird.

"The antennae don't curl upwards!"  If you read the Wiki, they actually can.  Hey, at least they're not spikes or something.

"Where's Lillian?"  I have no design for her.

Now if someone would like to redraw these guys, feel free to ask first and give me credit for the characters.  Just like armor, I can't draw muscles to save my life.  And if I sound like a bitch right now, I'm sorry; I don't like having my drawing interrupted.
