So 2020
I think it's easy to say this year sucks in every way, shape, and form. But this journal isn't going to be about this year, just more on what's going on personally. Most, if not all, my activity has moved to Instagram (Ryuulisk), where I am the most active. Much less toxic over there. However, during my absence here, I have lost touch with quite a few people, and finding it difficult in general to communicate with anyone. I'm not sure as to why that is, but it bugs the crap out of me. I think part of it stems from a fight I got into some time ago, and found another one failed to be what I was looking for in that situation, so I haven't bothered with one platform the peeps here I know use: Facebook. I've been debating for a while creating a new one, not really wanting to completely throw away my main, but I've come to realize, there's just no more good memories on the main one, and instead of unfriending everyone and blowing the whole thing up, creating a new one would be easiest. I'm still reachable on Gmail, and I do have Facebook Messenger on my phone, so I'm not completely unreachable, save when I'm at work because we can't have phones out on the floor.
Speaking of work, I no longer work at the unforgiving hell that is Staples, and have found my new place at Bath & Body Works, where my one year anniversary is quickly coming up. I'm much happier there. Though thanks to Covid and all the new norms we have to adopt, we've been getting some cranky customers. In which case all I can say is just keep bearing with us. We have to follow all these things too, and it isn't easy. Just don't give in to conspiracy theories and follow the CDC and what doctors say to do. Keep wearing your masks, sanitize when possible, respect the new policies and social distancing, and hopefully with combined efforts, we'll have a vaccine soon.
Other than that, I'm trying to return to my hobbies, though most of that has gone to video games on my off days or when I need to blow off steam. Animal Crossing New Horizons took up that claim for a while, but there's also other games I try keeping up with. Trying hard to return to doing art, looking into other things I could do so I can be good enough to start making pocket change since photography just ain't happening right now (cell phone images aren't enough). Also trying to come up with a really good NiGHTS fanfic that I might post here, but it's mostly gonna go to FanFiction.Net (Rydrake Kyuubi)...god, thinking of that, I got shit to clean up there...ugh, it makes me shudder, haha!
That's pretty much it. Oh, one last thing: Bro, if you're out there (you know who you are), come find me on Insta! You can still shoot me something here too (it just might be a while before you hear back). I miss talking to you and all the fun we've had despite some not-so-great-peeps here!
A New Year Update
Besides that bullshit, there is good news: I have a new laptop! Nothing fancy, just an HP laptop with solid state and touch screen (which I don't care much for), and so far it's doing great!
As for my activity here, however, since work and other things get in the way, I can't say I'm gonna be as active as I was before. All my fanfic activity will be going towards FanFiction, but my artworks will remain here. Hey, I got nowhere else to go, plus I've met a good few people here. If you have my gmail, you know what to do. Chances are, I won't see what's going on with you guys for weeks, at which point I just nuke everything.

Oh yeah, I’m happy about it. Apparently he got fired because the store wound up in such poor conditions, and now we have people from other Staples helping us out, and we need a new GM again. With him gone, we won’t be getting barked at for the most insignificant things. Oh yeah, he was the reason I was looking around...and found nothing. Meh, that’s always been my luck.
Anyway, I don’t think I’ll be posting fanfics here as much anymore. I’m gonna revive my FanFiction.Net account and post them there. If I have new arts, those will still get posted here. I’ve kinda developed a mindset where I’m not concerned with “DA Fame”, granted I’ll be happy if something goes well.
Another reason I may not be here much is...I lost the Toshiba my mom gave me because its hard drive has kicked the bucket. I managed to get a keyboard for my iPad, and soon I’ll be getting an iPad to USB adapter so I can get things moving again, making this a replacement. It’d be nice to get another laptop, but I don’t have the money for it, and this was the cheaper often, even cheaper than a new hard drive or solid state.

So, This is the Longest I've Been Gone
I do have a new art piece in production, which is gonna be the DPG's (Dinosaur Protection Group) first hybrid, a dragon. No worries, it won't be breathing fire or flying. Just a combo of dinosaurs similar to the I-Rex. It actually appeared to me in a dream...a lot of them have been getting really weird lately.
Another thing I plan on doing during my slow points at work (as I've been abusing Samsung Notes on my phone) is something called Dino Diaries. I wanted it to be Dino Dailies, but I'm not gonna have time to draw anything that often. Basically, it's gonna be journal entries detailing my findings on what the dinosaurs I have in JWA are doing and what I've been discovering. It's only supposed to be fun, so even if it seems "unrealistic", oh lordy lordy, if it even crosses that line, it would actually still fit reasonably within the Jurassic Universe considering how intelligent a lot of the dinos were; the raptors being too smart for this world, that's for damn sure. Not to mention, look at the I-Rex, and the final battle. There ya go. (And no, I haven't seen Fallen Kingdom yet, I WANT TO SO BAD!)
So, yeah, this account ain't dead, but I probably won't be as active as I'd like to be.
About the Legit Devil May Cry 5
And this is our Dante:
I am not pleased. First off, at first glance, Nero looks like the forever hated Reboot Dante, and our classic bad-boy Dante...looks creepy af. I know the timeline: DMC3 -> DMC1 -> Animated Series -> DMC4 -> DMC2. Dante didn't look too great in DMC2 either (and honestly the game was pretty shit anyway) but at least he didn't look like that! Soooooo many ways they could've gone with their designs and they go with this. Capcom, just give me my MMX Legacy Collections, and we're done. Nero looking like that is a huge turn-off for me, and now Dante is "crazy grandpa"...no.
What the could've done with Nero, there's a few things:
Option one: make his hair slightly longer. Not too long, maybe at the shoulder would be fine, put back in a short ponytail, something like that would've done fine.
Option two: have him live up to the fact he's Vergil's son by slicking his hair back. Seriously, that's all Vergil did in DMC3, just slick his hair back, and it worked fine! That's actually would've been an honorable touch.
Option three: Cut his hair short like Ichigo Kurosaki. 'Course 'cause his hair's white, he'd be more like Shirosaki, but point being here, both Nero and Ichigo are voiced by Johnny Young Bosch. That would've been a really good touch imo, since the games had more of an "anime feel" versus this real-world grunge bs. I get our world is falling apart, but keep DMC out of it; it has enough to deal with.
As for Dante? Well, we know how he's always looked: same ear-length (?) silvery hair, parted somewhere in the middle, always kept nice and neat, always stylish looks with that trademark red trench coat, and his face always clean with the exception of the trimmed beard in DMC4 that looked really good on him. It didn't need to be the "Rick Beard", didn't have to make it too obvious he's getting older, but just perfect enough to make us all swoon. But now, they've downgraded his appearance. He looks like one of those generic old guys you see in tv and movies. We get he's supposed to be older in this, but WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK CAPCOM?! Even Leon S. Kennedy didn't look like that! Let's see now...
Option one: Could've stayed with how he looked in DMC4. Like I described him in the paragraph above.
Option two: Like DMC2, lot more stern-looking and less like "crazy grandpa". Hell, he didn't even have a beard in that one. Yeah, I know they can grow back, but everyone changes up their looks.
Option three: HAVE HIM AGE F*CKING GRACEFULLY. Honestly, I know stress and other shit adds on to the age thing too, but he went from graceful aging to holy f*cking hell what happened. Just...ugh. Demons aren't supposed to look like that, not even half breeds.
So, yeah, while I'm happy we have a legit DMC5, I'm more upset about the design choices made. I'm afraid to see what they did to Lady, Trish, and now Kyrie. Guess Capcom didn't learn their lesson from Ninja Theory. Then again, they've been dropping the ball constantly over the years. Look how long it took to get ONE MegaMan game! Just...Capcom, you're done, go away, sell yourself to Nintendo; at least they'll give the characters real respect. Hey, don't give me that look, Nintendo's taking on adult titles now!
