Gift: Striped Ruby

It was my mother's birthday on the 24th (we celebrated it in Sunday), and with absolutely no hints as to what she wants or needs, I deided to make her something, just like I did on Mother's Day (see here: deidara-clone.deviantart.com/a…).  I wasn't sure what to do, so I looked up her birthstone (Ruby) and looked up the gem itself to see if it had any color variations, and while it's still mostly red, there were a few I found that had a purple hue.  So I came up with this.

Getting the red color wasn't hard.  After first putting on the glitter (after the top coat of course) and then the stripes, I put on a red that seemed a bit transparent.  So I had a deeper red I used after a coat or two of the other and it came out looking just like a ruby...for the most part.  She liked it^^
